The 1977 merger
During the major municipal merger in Belgium, Brecht, Sint-Lenaarts and Sint-Job-in-'t-Goor were combined into the municipality of Brecht. Each village retained its own church, associations and character, but the administration was brought under one roof.
What do you arrange where?
For municipal services — certificates, waste, permits, sports and youth — you go to the municipality of Brecht. Many of these matters can now be arranged online via the municipal counter.

One municipality, three village hearts
What we notice in the shop: customers from Brecht-centre, Sint-Lenaarts and Sint-Job each have their own rhythm. Sint-Job starts early due to the commute towards Antwerp, Brecht-centre lives around the market, Sint-Lenaarts around its associations. Together, these three make up the municipality.
